Centre clears disaster relief assistance worth Rs 3,700 crore for three states | India News


NEW DELHI: The Centre on Thursday produced disaster reduction assistance value above Rs 3,700 crore to a few states, like Kerala which was hit by large floods in August and will get the lion’s share of Rs 3,048 crore as more help from the Countrywide Catastrophe Response Fund (NDRF).

Although Andhra Pradesh, influenced by cyclone ‘Titli’ earlier this calendar year, has been assigned Rs 539.52 crore, Rs 131.16 crore will be given to Nagaland which experienced witnessed floods.

A higher amount committee chaired by house minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday approved the additional help from NDRF, a property ministry spokesperson reported.

The Kerala federal government experienced sought Rs 4,700 crore as payment from the central governing administration for the injury prompted by the August floods, termed as the worst in a century, which claimed 488 folks life throughout 14 affected districts of the state.
