Charisma Carpenter Biography

Charisma Carpenter is an American actress and her performance as Cordelia Chase in the television series ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ and its spin-off ‘Angel’. Her role achieved her four Saturn Awards nominations.

Early life

Charisma Carpenter was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on 23rd July, 1970. She was named after an Avon perfume. Carpenter had been spotted by a commercial agent during her work as waiting tables in Los Angeles. Charisma starred in many theatre productions, such as “No, No, Nanette” and “Welcome Home, Soldier”. Her television debut was in an episode of Baywatch in 1994. Although she gave audition for the role title, she got cast as Cordelia Chase, a snooty and high school popular student. Her profile got a lift up when her fans and producers gave her the much bigger role as the same character in the spin off, ‘Angel’.

Carpenter can be seen in a plethora of “made-for-TV” and “direct-to-video movies” some of which include the sex comedy ‘What Boys Like’, the horror film ‘Voodoo Moon’ and the romantic comedies ‘See Jane Date ‘and’Relative Chaos’ on ABC Family. She has had a successful television career. Among her recent profile additions is the success of the movie, ‘The Expendables’ in which she starred with Sylvester Stallone.

Personal Life

She married Damian Hardy on October 5, 2002. On 24th March 2003, the couple welcomed their son, Donovan Charles Hardy, into the world. The couple separated on July 3, 2008.
