Congress says voters have a right to know about CM Parrikar’s health | India News


PANAJI: The Congress bash challenged the stance Goa government, which a working day before insisted that chief minister Manohar Parrikar’s wellness “cannot be subjected to scrutiny”. Speaking to reporters immediately after a Pradesh Congress Committee conference, Goa desk in charge and AICC secretary A ChellaKumar said that voters have a right to know about the wellbeing of their main minister.

“The voter is entitled to know about the wellbeing standing of the main minister,” said ChellaKumar. “Money is not staying put in from his (Parrikar’s) very own pocket but it goes from the common man’s tax.”

The Goa federal government on December 7 stated right before the substantial court docket of Bombay at Goa that the community fascination litigation (PIL) filed in search of standing of Parrikar’s wellness indirectly attacks the chief minister’s elementary proper to privateness and that his wellness difficulties “cannot be subjected to scrutiny”.

Social activist Trajano D’Mello has submitted the PIL which, the chief secretary of Goa Dharmendra Sharma, in his affidavit claimed was not maintainable as it did not serve much larger community interest.

“The BJP authorities is having to pay for the remedy of the chief minister from taxes. Parrikar is also the agent of the people today and definitely as a voter, I have all the rights,” ChellaKumar said.
