Independence Day India Speech
A memorable moment in every Indian’s life would be midnight of August 15, 1947, when India broke tyranny of the British umpire and woke up to renewed hope, optimism, and most importantly freedom. The tri-color was given its much awaited respect as patriotism coursed the length and breadth of the country. This day is a National Holiday every year.

Independence Day is such a distinct and special moment in the lives of Indians as it symbolizes their long struggle to attain it. India’s freedom struggle is legendary and heroic; it is a triumph of several martyred souls. Independence Day was a day when India got rid of the foreign oppression and became a sovereign country
On this day, every year, the current Prime Minister of the country gives a speech in the Red Fort, at New Delhi, the capital of the country. This, along with the Parade, the Flag hoisting ceremony and the cultural programme at the same venue, form the main highlight of the day. However, speeches can be presented by other leaders too, as done by our ex-president, APJ Abdul Kalam, on the eve of the 57th Independence Day of the country. The speeches presented talk about the strength, the goals, the aspirations, tasks before it, and the various objectives of the government for the betterment of the people of the country.

The most memorable speech till date, however, is believed to be made by India’s first Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on August 15, 1947 itself. It is still quoted by youngsters and adults, due to its inspiring and thought provoking nature, during their celebrations.
