J&K witnesses overall 79.9% voting in Phase-VIII of panchayat polls | India News


The eighth period of panchayat polls in Jammu and Kashmir concluded on Saturday with the condition recording 79.9% polling percentage. While 85.1% electors exercised their franchise in Jammu division, 49.6% forged their votes in Kashmir division.

In Jammu, the maximum share was noted at Reasi (89.8%) and the cheapest in Rajouri (82.4%). In Kashmir, Budgam recorded the best poll proportion (56.9) and Budgam the lowest at 9.1%, claimed Chief Electoral Officer J&K, Shaleen Kabra.
