BENGALURU: Yet another front has been opened in Vijay Mallya’s lawful wrangles in India with his stepmother, Ritu Mallya, impleading herself on Monday in a fit just before the Karnataka higher courtroom contesting the fugitive tycoon’s present of settlement with the financial institutions. Her said intent is to guard her minority interest in United Breweries Holdings Ltd (UBHL).

This improvement has prompted UBHL to exclude the shares held by Ritu from the Rs 15,000-crore settlement supply created by her stepson. It is unclear accurately how significantly stake Ritu holds in UBHL. “I had inherited 1-3rd shares when my partner died (in 1983). I have hardly ever sold a one share until date, and I have in no way taken a mortgage. I never have a roof in excess of my head now. I moved the court docket to shield my passions,” she told TOI.
