Rajnath to head BJP’s manifesto committee for LS polls | India News

NEW DELHI: The BJP on Sunday appointed senior leaders Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley as the head of 20-member ‘sankalp patra’ (manifesto) committee and publicity wing respectively for the Lok Sabha polls as its president Amit Shah shaped 17 teams in preparation for the elections.

Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Piyush Goyal and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, and former Madhya Pradesh main minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan are the other customers of the committee tasked with planning the party’s manifesto, a statement said.

Jaitley will also be a member of this committee.

Union minister Nitin Gadkari will head a committee which will arrive at out to social and volunteer organisations though minister of exterior affairs Sushma Swaraj will head a group that will deliver literature for the polls, it additional.


Prasad will head the party’s media team while Union minister Prakash Javadekar will guide the wing which will organise conferences of intellectuals.

The Lok Sabha polls are predicted to be held in April-May with the BJP less than Key Minister Narendra Modi searching for a re-election.
