SC dismisses PIL challenging dissolution of J&K assembly | India News


NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a petition that challenged the J&K governor Satya Pal Malik‘s decision to dissolve the state assembly past month.

The prime courtroom said that the petition, submitted by former BJP chief, experienced no advantage.

“We are not inclined to interfere (with the decision of the Governor),” a bench comprising Main Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice S K Kaul stated.

Before this month, previous BJP MLA Gagan Bhagat had challenged the dissolution of J&K assembly by filing a writ petitiom.

The BJP had performed down Bhagat’s transfer, stating the bash does not interfere in constitutional establishments and will constantly sustain the sanctity of the Raj Bhavan.
